HEAR YE, HEAR YE, HEAR YE!

Seven of the eight finalists competed at Waverly Woods to determine the 2017 BFC winner! The weather was gorgeous and conditions included thick rough and greens of average speed. As you know the eight finalists were assigned points before play began based on their position in the standings. This point realignment makes it possible for anyone to be crowned the winner regardless of their position when they tee off.

When the dust settled, Doug Myers took second place in the daily event pool to win $30. There was grumbling heard on the 19th tee. Someone apparently limped in with a double bogey on the easy 18th hole. I refuse to name names but Doug may have led that conversation. Jeff "Cocktail" Nengel finished first to win $50. This is his third win of the four playoff/final rounds. Impressive indeed!

But wait; there is prize money awarded for this major... Vince Shifflett finished in fourth (in spite of his NO SHOW performance to earn zero points in this event) to win $25. Bob Hammond finished in third to win $50. Doug Myers was the runner-up to win $75. The BFC winner for 2017 is Jeff Nengel to win the $100 prize. Note that this is his second consecutive win of the prestigious BFC Cup! Apparently the stars have aligned in his golf game at the right moment.

In the social round of the day, seven players competed in a separate pool. Bill Pig won $30 for second. Ken Puckett won $40 for first place.

All players competed in a combined KP pool . The winners are: Rob Kline, Bill Aspinwall, and Jeff Nengel each winning $20. The Commish won $15

BE IT HEREBY KNOWN BY ALL MEMBERS, that Mean 18 Play concluded for 2017 after this event. As previously published this pool of $300 taken from annual dues will be split among the top three players in the standings. Finishing in third place to win $50 is Vince Shifflett. The tie for first could not be settled by our normal tiebreaker method. Consequently the first and second place prize money was split equally between "Dollar" Bill Sasser and the Commish.

Congrats to the winners!
