A total of five teams – 10 players competed in the first Major tournament of 2018 at Greystone over two days. Conditions were excellent but challenging for the Saturday formats of Captains Choice on the front nine and Alternate Shot on the back nine. Sunday was also excellent for the first 13 holes until Mother Nature rained hard enough to fill a bucket during your putting stroke. The Sunday formats were best ball net on the front nine and aggregate net on the back nine. Scores were noticeably higher for all players on the back nine.

The $100 daily prize pool was split $60/$40 to the top two teams of the day. The overall tournament prize money came out of club dues. The overall winners split the $100 prize. The second place team split $50 prize. The first day results were tied at a net 69 between Henson/Quick and Hammond/Meyers. The tiebreaker was won by  Henson/Quick. The second day results were tied at a net 109 between Henson/Quick and Puckett/Pigg. The tiebreaker was won by Henson/Quick.

The tournament winners by a margin 0.5 strokes after two days of play are Henson/Quick to win $50 each. Hammond/Meyers collected $25 each for second place.

The KP winners on Saturday were the teams of: Ginter/Nengel, Puckett/Pigg, Rebert/Elliott, Henson/Quick each winning $5 per man. Henson/Quick also won a KP at $10 each. The individual KP winners on Sunday included: Puckett and Pigg each winning $15. Puckett and Commish x2 won $10 per KP. Noteworthy was the roar of the crowd when the Commish spun back his 12th hole tee shot down the slope into the cup. Adult beverages were flowing freely in the clubhouse! Commish humbly accepted the PBG 2018 hole-in-one prize of $300.
Congrats to the winners!
